Value personal data — it’s worth protecting

We are committed to protecting the personal information we collect, hold and share under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act).

This includes meeting the challenge of cybersecurity and data protection in a digital world. Data and the personal information it carries has great value to the individual, government and private sector.

Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) (14 — 20 May 2018) is an opportunity to think about the value of personal information, why it is worth protecting and to promote a culture that protects and respects individuals’ personal information by raising privacy awareness.

In keeping with the theme for the week: Value personal data — it’s worth protecting, members of the community are also encouraged to protect their personal information too, particularly when interacting online.

Our Privacy Policy outlines how we adhere to the IP Act and the Information Privacy Principles contained in the Act.
